Pressestimmen
The antidote to February that we all need. A blast of a book . . . There's something rather giddily joyful about this tale of women pulling together, and Moyes writes about their high jinks, tribulations and amorous entanglements with warmth and a wonderfully wicked sense of humour ― THE TIMES 'BOOK OF THE MONTH'
Do shoes make the woman... or does the woman make the shoes? Jojo Moyes' new novel is a delightful reverse-Cinderella story of two women who seem polar opposites - until circumstance forces them to experience each other's lives. Nobody writes women the way Jojo Moyes does - recognizably real and complex and funny and flawed - which is what makes her novels an auto-buy for me -- Jodi Picoult, #1 NYT bestselling author

[A] captivating new blockbuster. Superb. Once you step into the lives of Sam and Nisha, you'll be racing through the pages, breathless to find out what happens next. It's a sassy strut of a novel, full of twists and high-adrenaline moments, but ultimately it's got heart too. The characters are relatable, memorable and engaging, and you'll be rooting for your favourites to end up walking tall ― Daily Express
A warm, witty and uplifting novel and it's a joy to spend time with Jojo Moyes' flawed, likeable characters. Another winner from a fabulous author ― Sunday Express

- Bewertet in Deutschland am 12. April 2023Formatieren: KindleVerifizierter KaufI really enjoyed reading Someone Else's Shoes. Amazing what just a small mistake can lead to... I wasn't too keen on Nisha at the beginning but throughout the book she grew on me. As always Jojo Moyes describes average people and their everyday problems well - who can't help but feel for those with problems. A good contrast between extremely rich Americans and Brits trying to make ends meet. Most people will recognise "blustering" Simon in sexist, inefficient bosses who make everyone's life miserable!

Formatieren: KindleVerifizierter KaufI just couldn’t put it down. It was extremely amusing as well. My only negative is some of the author’s misunderstandings about real English (I assume she is American)

5,0 von 5 Sternen Someone else s shoes
Formatieren: KindleVerifizierter KaufBrilliant . I have nt read a book as quickly as this for a very long time....I had to get to the end and could see the characters as if in a film.....in fact I hope it will be eventually. It shows the ups and downs of life with great hilarity along the way . There s bullying compassion injustice depression stress despair extreme wealth and poverty. But mainly its about friendship patience and the struggle to make things as right as possible . The swearing is acceptable to the story and as someone who has expeienced most of the above it made me giggle a lot. Great. Thankyou

5,0 von 5 Sternen Another amazing story
Here is yet another captivating story, so beautifully written.
Once you start it, you cannot put it down.
I loved both main protagonists, Nisha and Sam, and their problems and misadventures felt real and heartbreaking.
All the supporting characters are also very well written and how everything unravels at the end is just breathtaking.
And yes, it is all about one pair of shoes!
